Organizer

Title: Organizer
Reports to: President and Executive Director
Staff Category: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Qualifications:
Five (5) or more years of related experience in union or community organizing, labor advocacy, or a related field. Strong understanding of labor laws, workers' rights, and collective bargaining principles in the Public Sector. This position involves traveling primarily throughout Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland but may include other states. Weekend and evening work may be required, as well as occasional overnight travel. A valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a car are required.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and Recruit: Develop and implement strategies for organizing new members into the union and mobilizing current members around workplace issues.
- Member Representation: Represent members in grievances, assist in contract negotiations, and resolve workplace disputes.
- Leadership Development: Identify and train potential member leaders to actively participate in union activities.
- Contract and Campaigns: Assist in planning and executing strategic contract and workplace campaigns to improve working conditions and enforce union agreements.
- Membership Engagement: Educate and communicate with members regarding their collective bargaining rights, benefits, and responsibilities under union contracts.
- Worksite Planning: Assess work environments, identify key workplace issues, and develop site-specific organizing strategies.
- Education and Training: Conduct training sessions and workshops for union members on organizing techniques, labor rights, and workplace advocacy.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of organizing activities, membership outreach, and other related documentation.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Support the overall goals of NCEU and assist in various union efforts as needed.

Compensation:
