Teamsters Joint Council 9 represents 16,000 members in the Carolinas.

We are looking for individuals who want to stand with us in fighting for good wages, strong health care, retirement security and dignity on the job.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leading direct outreach to workers at job sites.
  • Building one-on-one relationships with workers.
  • Conducting individual and group meetings with workers.
  • Maintaining data tracking with regular input of contacts into a database.
  • Motivating individual workers and groups to take action.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate commitment to social and economic justice.
  • The ability to make and follow through on a work plan.
  • Sharp communication skills.
  • Basic writing and computer skills.
  • Ability to manage your time independently.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Extended hours and some overnight travel may be required.
  • Willingness to conduct house calls and work site visits.
  • (If you are not willing to make house calls do not apply)
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
