Organizing Internship

Based in Norfolk, VA

 

While hospitality workers bore the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 1% have only gotten richer. But workers across the country are organizing and fighting back. We need your help to build working class power in the Petersburg area!

UNITE HERE Local 23 is looking for individuals who are passionate about fighting for justice for hospitality workers to join us for our Organizing Internship. The start date is flexible (though sooner is better). Organizing experience is neither required nor preferred. Good candidates will be flexible, sociable, reliable, and dedicated.

This internship will train you on basic and advanced organizing skills through engaging in organizing conversations and close work with our staff organizers. You will learn to organize people to stand up for their rights and build worker-led committees to take on multinational corporations.

You must have the ability to work in the Norfolk / Hampton Roads area. Flexibility in scheduling preferred.
